Description
As a PADI IDC Staff Instructor, you will play a key role in the development of new PADI Instructors, making this course a rewarding step in your professional diving career.
During the course, you will:
- Learn How to Mentor Instructor Candidates: Gain advanced teaching and evaluation skills to assist PADI Course Directors during Instructor Development Courses (IDCs).
- Enhance Your Instructor Knowledge: Participate in IDC presentations and workshops, and develop a deeper understanding of the PADI educational system.
- Conduct Assistant Instructor (AI) Courses: After certification, you’ll be qualified to independently conduct and certify AI courses.
- Audit and Evaluate Instructor Candidates: Practice evaluating teaching presentations in both classroom and in-water environments.
- Develop Leadership Skills: Strengthen your ability to coach and mentor instructor candidates, ensuring they meet PADI’s high standards.
By the end of the program, you’ll be prepared to assist Course Directors in all aspects of IDC training and have the skills to elevate your professional standing as a dive leader.
Prerequisites
To enroll in the PADI IDC Staff Instructor training program, you must meet the following requirements:
- Be a certified PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT).
- Have a current PADI membership and be in teaching status.
- Have a medical clearance signed by a physician within the last 12 months.
